Dave Gritter Heise, 53, of Michigan City, Indiana, and formerly of LaPorte, died at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the St. Margaret Mercy Health Care Center in Hammond, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Nielsen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services. Cremation has taken place.
Dave was born on February 26, 1951 in LaPorte to Ralph and M. Jean (Bower) Heise who survive.
He is also survived by his twin brother Dean (Sharon) Heise of LaPorte, brother Bruce Heise of Hamlet, IN, sister Carol (Ed) Semla of Warsaw, IN and 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William & Mabelle Bower and George & Leota Heise, Jr.
Dave worked for the LaPorte Co. 911 dispatch. He was a 1970 graduate of LaPorte High School, a former member of the LaPorte FOP and the ASA Umpires Association. He was an avid softball player and an umpire for many years.
