David Allen Emmons, Sr., 55, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Porter Regional Hospital.
David was born in Ladysmith, WI, on June 2, 1960 to Joseph and Barbara (Moen) Emmons.
On May 2, 1981, he married Kerry (McDonald) Emmons who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Barbara Emmons of Wisconsin; his beloved children, David Emmons of Mill Creek and Jared (Taylor) Emmons of La Porte; grandchildren, Liam Emmons, Carter Emmons, and Zoey Emmons; siblings, Joseph Emmons, Jr. of Indiana, Janice Emmons of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Lori (Kenny) Tassone of Hebron, Illinois, Rachael (Lou) Deming of Florida, and Russell Deming of Oklahoma; as well as many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Emmons and goddaughter, Meagan Tassone.
David worked as a Locomotive Engineer. He loved to hunt, fish, work in his garden, coach softball, and play with his grandkids. He also loved watching his beloved Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Nate Loucks officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
