David Carl Timm, Sr. , 85 years old of Rolling Prairie, IN, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the home of his daughter Fay, in LaPorte, were he had resided the last three years.
He was born December 8, 1923 in Westville, Indiana, Son of the late Clarence and Hulda Timm .
He was married on September 28, 1974 in LaPorte, IN., to Joan Marie Curtis who passed away on April 27, 2005.
Dave worked as a Machine Repairman for Allis Chalmers. He loved gardening and being outdoors. He especially loved his dogs. He was a US Army veteran of WWII.
Surviving are five children, David (Lesley) Timm, Jr. of Maryville, TN., Fay (Milton) McCoy of LaPorte, IN., Lisa (Heath) Haferkamp of LaPorte, IN., Daniel Martin of LaPorte, IN., Marilyn (Jim) Selke of Michigan City, IN., 9 grandchildren, David Michael & Steve Timm, Staci Watterson, Stephani Wilson, Andrew Martin, Lindsay Aubin, Joe Selke, Craig McCoy, 14 great grandchildren, twin sister, Doris "Teen" Timm of Michigan City, IN., brother, Paul (Doris) Timm of LaPorte, IN., and his faithful, loving caregiver, JoAnn Jansky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan M. Timm and his parents, two sisters, Carol & Ramona and two brothers, Clarence and Russell.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 3-6 P.M.
Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Interment will be held privately at Patton Cemetery.
