Dawn Anne Catherine Wells dies at age 68
Former Chesterton resident Dawn Anne Catherine Wells, 68, of LaPorte, IN, died Sunday, June 6, 2014, at the Franciscan St. Anthony Health hospital in Michigan City, IN under hospice care.
She was born on March 4, 1946, in New York City, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Reinschmidt) Schneider.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Wells, her son, Michael Wells and her daughter Becki Wells plus six grandchildren. Dawn Anne, an only child, was preceded in death by her parents.
Dawn Anne worked as an executive secretary and medical transcriptionist before moving to Indiana from Pittsburgh, PA with her husband and children in 1984. She was a weekly volunteer for the Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Liberty Bible Church Library. Dawn Anne contributed to other Christian ministries as well including the Liberty Bible Church LaPorte Campus children's ministry. Dawn was an avid gardener and enjoyed wild flower botanizing.
Dawn Anne and her husband moved to Union Mills, IN in late 2004 and then downsized to LaPorte in 2013 as her health deteriorated.
Her life will be celebrated during a private family gathering during the 4th of July holiday.
