Our beloved brother, Dennis Stout, recently passed away in La Porte, IN, after a lengthy illness.
Dennis spent an active childhood in Chesterton, IN, where he participated in football and even won the Porter County Soap Box Derby! He subsequently graduated from CHS in 1977. Dennis loved both the telling and hearing of a good story. He worked and played hard, particularly watching car racing, golf, and football, especially the Bears and Notre Dame. His many working years behind the wheel of big trucks gave him a roadside view of the world.
Dennis made his home in La Porte, IN, alongside his surviving devoted partner, Connie Binversie, with the help of many furry friends, especially his faithful dog, Chopper. Many hours were pleasantly spent cultivating their garden and resting in it's peaceful yard space.
Preceding Dennis in death were his parents, George and Doris Stout, and sister, Connie Wallace.
Surviving Dennis are his sisters, Pam (Bob) Furdo of Chesterton, IN, Deborah Moulton of Portage, IN, and Candace (Paul) Jones of Oakland, MD; eight nieces and nephews; and ten great-nieces and nephews.
Upon his passing, Dennis chose to continue his legacy of generosity through tissue donation.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Per Dennis' wishes, only a private family gathering will be held at a future date.
To further honor Dennis, the family suggests memorial donations be made in his name to pet rescues or homeless shelters.
