Diane Stassel

Diane Stassel, 70, of La Porte, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her home.

Diane was born in La Porte, IN, on September 22, 1948 to Alex and Ruth Stassel.

Diane is survived by her sisters, Rita Hubner of La Porte, Ramona Stassel of Niles, MI, Darlene Klement of La Porte, and Margaret Lisiecki of GA; brothers Alex and Doug Stassel of La Porte; nieces and nephews, Christopher (Kelly) Klement of Wabash, IN, Wyatt Hubner of MO, Leena (Nolan) Amm, La Porte, Megan (Kevin) Lisiecki-Yi, GA, and Mitchell Lisiecki, GA; great nieces and nephews, Karina Hubner, Henry Amm, Mason Klement, and Charlie Amm.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

She enjoyed boating and living on Pine Lake. She worked summers at Michigan City Park Department.  She worked as Facilities Assistant at Priest of Holy Cross, and was Supervisor at Arconic (Howmet-Austenal). She was a 1967 graduate of La Porte High School.  She received her Associate’s degree of business from Purdue University Northwest and her Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Management from Indiana State University. Golfing, water skiing, La Porte Women’s Slow Pitch Softball, and La Porte Women’s Tennis were activities she participated in and enjoyed.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be help at 4 pm (CT) on Friday, March 15, 2019 at First Church of God with Pastor Rick Jones officiating.  A time of visitation will be held beginning at 2 pm (CT) before the service.
