Dolores Lambert

February 25, 1927 — July 14, 2006


Dolores "Ornery" Lambert, 79, of Elkhart, Indiana and formerly of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 5:42 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006. She died at the home of her daughter after a 16-year battle with breast cancer.

A funeral service will be held at held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ohime officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Rolling Prairie Cemtery.

Dolores was born February 25, 1927, in Clarendon Hills, Illinois to Richard & Pleasant (Highland) Reasoner. On November 16, 1946, in LaPorte, she married Robert Benjamin Lambert, Sr. who survives.

Survivors include sons William Joseph (Jenny) Lambert of Fish Lake, IN, Robert Benjamin (Dagmar) Lambert of Waynesville, MO; daughter Jeri Sue (Wendie House) Lambert of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren Nicholas (Zanna) Lambert, Christopher & Jessica Lambert, Tara (Jeff) Weathers, Melody (Bryan) Avery, and Jenny Lynn (Christopher) Meadows; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Dolores had worked at LeMans Academy. For 17 years, she had also been a crossing guard for the city of LaPorte at the St. Joseph School Crossing.

She was a member of the LaPorte First Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler, a camper and had loved music and card playing.
