Don Stanley, 65, of Michigan City, Indiana, died at 2:20 a.m. on Monday August 1, 2005 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis,
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, at St. John's Lutheran Church, LaPorte, with Rev. David Young officiating. A time of sharing with Don's family will be held at the Cutler Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
Don was born August 15, 1939 in Portland, Indiana to Max and Patricia (Brown) Stanley. On December 4, 1964, he married Doris Schmaltz, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Jim (Lisa) Stanley of Sylva, NC and David Stanley of Garrett, IN; 6 grandchildren; sisters Karen Moss and Mary Boon of Raleigh, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and an infant son preceded him in death.
Don had retired as an electrician for Local 531 in LaPorte. He was also a Navy veteran.
