Donald Mayo Ford, 69, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Miller?s Merry Manor in New Carlisle, Indiana.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 13, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Pastor Silas Christian and Pastor Wayne Rosson officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 on Sunday and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the LaPorte Military Honor Guard.

Donald was born January 4, 1935, in Lamar County, Millport, Alabama, to William Ed. & Easter Anthem (Burns) Ford. On June 20, 1963, in LaPorte County, he married Ann Elizabeth Booker, who preceded him in death on October 22, 2004.

Survivors include children Patricia (David) Nelson of LaPorte, Stanley (Carol) Powers of Delphi, NY, Jane Heichel of Michigan City, IN, Diane (Anthony) Williams of Michigan City, Donald (Helen) Ford or LaPorte, Donna (Glen) Andrews of Michigan City; 26 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren; and sisters Laverne Thomas of Lakeland, FL and Erlene Blakney of Millport, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Louise Funderburk, Mattiewill Suddeth and Willette Suddeth, and brothers Leon, Fred and Norris Ford.

Donald had worked at American Cynamid in Michigan City, which became Criterion Catalyst. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Michigan City. He was past president of Local #493. He had also served in the U.S. Army.
