Donald E. Schrier, 61 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born August 2, 1951 in LaPorte, IN, son of Henry H. and Kathleen L. (Cowgill) Schrier.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Tricia (Sean) Parry of Lavaca, AK, Jennifer (Charlie) Fulmer of Madison, FL, Donica Schrier of LaPorte; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, his mother, Kathleen Schrier of LaPorte; brothers, Charlie (Barb) Schrier of Tiffin, OH, Henry Schrier, Jr. of LaPorte, Ron Schrier of LaPorte; sisters, Patty (Wayne) Wiltfong of LaPorte, Lauri (Cal) Chapman of LaPorte, Cindy (Chris) Schrier of LaPorte, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Schrier, Sr., brother, Robert Schrier, love of his life and mother of his daughters, Donna Jean Masterson, and all his grandparents.
Donald served faithfully in the US Army. He was a retired Commercial Truck Driver and was a member of the V.F.W. of LaPorte, American Legion Post #83, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of LaPorte. He was always telling jokes and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Service was held privately at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
