Doris L. Jacobs, 99, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, November 22,
2017 at Hospice Franciscan Communities in Michigan City. Doris was
born in Centerville, MI, on July 24, 1918 to Edo and Minnie (McKale)
Hasbrouck. On December 22, 1936 in Goshen, IN, she married Myrl E.
Jacobs who preceded her in death. Surviving are her beloved children,
Patricia "Pat" Jones of La Porte and Lawrence "Larry" (Louanna)
Jacobs, Sr. of La Porte; 7 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren;
daughter-in-law, Phyllis Jacobs; life long friend, Anna Arndt; as well
as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Myrl; son, Jerry Jacobs; 3 grandsons, Dale Jones,
Jack Jones, Jr. and Lawrence Jacobs, Jr.; son-in-law, Jack Jones, Sr.
Doris worked as a laborer at Kingsbury Ordinance Plant, Plimpton
Press, and the Candy Factory Company. She was a former member of
Eagles Auxiliary #2439 and La Porte Area Democratic Club. A time of
visitation will be held from 2 - 4 PM (CST) on Saturday, December 2,
2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Cremation will
follow and a private family graveside service will take place at
Saukton Cemetery in Mill Creek on a later date. In lieu of flowers,
