Doris Mae "Dorcey" Martin, 97, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on September 26, 2024.
Dorcey was born on July 2, 1927, in Pound, VA, to Noah and Nona (Adams) Hubbard. She was a graduate of Pound High School, where she was captain of the girls' basketball team.
For 43 years, she was married to Adam Ramey, Jr., before he went home to meet the Lord in 1991. In 1997, Dorcey married Elis Martin.
Dorcey is survived by sister, Carolyn Mullican; brother-in-law, Ed Castle; stepchildren, Angie Delong, Janice (Scott) Alm, and Karen (Mike) Cox; as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Jimmy Ramey; stepson, Terry Martin; sisters, Virginia (Ray) Kennedy, Irene (Ray) Taylor, and Shirley Castle; and brother, Noah R. Hubbard.
Dorcey was a waitress at Holiday Inn for 52 years. She was a member of Harvest Time Church of God for many years.
She will be fondly remembered for having a heart of gold. Dorcey will be dearly missed by those blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Harvest Time Church of God with Pastor Joe Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
