Dorothy Jean Hill, 66 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 at her home in LaPorte.
She was born on Friday, March 15, 1946 in Royalton, KY, daughter of the late James K. and Lulia (Fitzpatrick) Prater.
Dorothy was married on May 6, 1988 to Timothy N. Hill who survives.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Chapel in LaPorte, since July 12, 1998, she was baptized on June 11, 1989 and was also a member of Big Half Mountain Church in Salyersville, KY.
Surviving are her husband, Timothy N. Hill; 2 sons, Steve (Patty) Arnett of Kingsford Heights, IN, Robert (Pam) Arnett of LaPorte; 4 grlndchildren, Brandon Arnett, Teri Arnett of LaPorte, Stephenni Arnett of Mishawaka, IN, Kaylea Arnett of Parker City, IN; 1 sister, Sue (Dan) Shoads of Union City, TN; 1 brother, Lacy Prater of Salyersville, KY; with a host of numerous nieces and nephews; special nieces, Phillis Prater, Brenda Cole, Connie DeHaven, Barb Fulton, Lisa Underhill, Debbie and Penny Wright all of Jackson, MI, Lorean, Lorrie, Sandy of Kentucky; special nephew, Tim Underhill, and 2 special brothers-in-law, James Underhill and Bud Wright.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Arnett of Parker City, IN; 5 brothers, James, Charles, Willie, Burl & Kernie Prater; 7 sisters, Elizabeth Elliot, Sally Collins, Corine DeHaven, Julie Wright, Mollie Underhill, Linda Bailey, and Nora Fulton.
There will be times of visitation at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service in LaPorte, IN from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 and 4-7 PM Thursday, April 12, 2012 with one hour before the service on Friday.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 13, 2012 with Pastor Monroe Jones and Pastor Paul Coldiron officiating. Interment will follow in the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
