Dorothy Lindborg, age 88, of Union Mills, passed away on March 30, 2013 at Settlers House.
She was born in Laporte, IN on April 26, 1924 to Laurel and Edna (Fritzen) Weidman.
On January 24, 1947 in LaPorte, she married Warren Lindborg who preceded her in death on January 11, 2001. Surviving are her beloved children, 2 sons, Yon (Alice) Lindborg, Edgar (Yvonne) Lindborg; six grandchildren, Chris (Tara) Lindborg, Ben (Lena) Lindborg, Anna (Eric) Bradley, Kathryn (Ryan) Pott, Peter Lindborg, Paul Lindborg; two great grandsons; and one sister, Barb (Jack) Hyde of LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Warren, her parents, and a grandson, Eric John Lindborg.
Dorothy was a 1942 graduate of LaPorte High School, and a 1947 graduate of Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She was also involved in the student Cadet Nursing Corps. She worked one year for US Slicing Machines and also worked for Dr. Louis Moosey. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she was active as a Sunday School teacher, playing piano, Women's Missionary Society Bethany Quilters, and Onwego Club. She as a supportive farm wife for the family dairy farm and was known to cook for the Lindborg Dairy Farm family, employees, friends, neighbors, and many throughout Union Mills.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Bethany Lutheran Church in LaPorte with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and also from 10 AM until the time of service on Friday at the Church. Burial will take place at Carmel Cemetery following the service.
