Dorothy Meinberg, 94, of Valparaiso, Indiana and formerly of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23 at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Doug Hadley officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until the time of services. Burial will be in the Pine Lake Cemetery.
Dorothy was born February 15, 1910 in LaPorte to William & Clara (Kempf) Granzow. On September 27, 1935, she married Carl Meinberg, who preceded her in death in 1953.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Murray (David) Koppers of Valparaiso; granddaughter Glory Murray Gross of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren Emma, Trey and William Gross of San Antonio; and a nephew, William Steinfeldt of Huron, OH.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry and brothers, William and Martin Granzow.
Dorothy had worked for Taylor & Taylor Insurance Company of LaPorte, Chicago Garment Company and had retired from Rockwell International Purchasing Department of Gary, Indiana.
She had graduated from LaPorte High School and LaPorte Business College. She was a member of LaPorte First United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Martha Circle. She was an avid bridge player, playing in the Tri Kappa and Swanson Center Bridge Groups.
