Dorothy Musselman, 88, LaPorte, died at 2:18 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 22, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cutler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Doug Hadley officiating. Burial will take place in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Musselman was born June 4, 1915, in Garrett, Ind., to Charles and Emma (Hiigli) Bowmar. On Sept. 1, 1942, in Garrett, Ind., she married Merl M. Musselman, who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2002.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith (Phil) M. Waid, Columbus, Ohio; one son, John (Jan) C. Musselman, Wilton, Conn.; four grandchildren, Julie Rowe, Jeffrey Waid, Eric Musselman and Kristin Whitesell; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Doris Habig, Auburn, Ind.; and two brothers, Lawrence Bowmar, Auburn, Ind. and Charles Bowmar, Garrett.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Bowmar.
Mrs. Musselman taught school in Union Mills for six years and 21 years in the LaPorte School Corp., mostly at Crichfield School, retiring in 1977.
She was a 1933 graduate of Garret High School and a graduate of Ball State University, with a bachelor's of science degree in education.
Mrs. Musselman was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa Sorority and a former member of Eastern Star.
