Dorothy Wegner, 97, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 8:13 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, at the Bethany Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Dorothy was born November 5, 1908 in LaPorte to Samuel & Mary (Olin) Lindborg. She married Wilbur Gulh, who preceded her in death in 1976. On June 28, 1980, in LaPorte, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, she married Frederick Wegner, who survives.
Survivors also include son John Wegner of Atlanta, GA; many nieces and nephews; and special caregiver Mary Fridh of LaPorte.
A brother, Carl Lindborg and sisters Nellie Blank, Bernice Lange, Marguerite Caddy, Katherine Hilgendorf, and Anna Fridh preceded her in death.
Dorothy had been a beautician and had worked in the office at the Whirlpool Corporation. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and had been involved with LaPorte Little Theatre.
