Dorthy Buck, 88 years old of Hamlet, IN, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her home.
She was born December 5, 1923 in Union Mills daughter of the late Chester Welford and Olivia (Fogg) Tatman.
Dorthy was married on May 12, 1943 in Ft. Benning George to John P. Buck who survives. Also surviving are her great nephew, Doug (Kay) Marsh of Grovertown, IN; nieces, Elaine Marsh of Hamlet & Mary Cozzi of California; great niece, Terri (Frank) Grove of Walkerton; and sister-in-law, Rachel Tatman of Union Mills.
Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Melvin Tatman; and sister, Irene Greenhut-Pollard.
She was a member Tracy United Methodist Church and Kingsford Heights American Legion Post 434 where she was a Past Commander, and served as Adjutant. Dorthy was also a member of the American Legion Auxillary where she was a Past President and Parliamentarian. She was a fifty year member of The National Audubon Society.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will follow in Tracy Cemetery.
