Douglas M. Garwood, 66, of La Porte, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hospice Franciscan Communities in Michigan City.
Douglas was born in La Porte, IN, on November 17, 1949 to Donald and Ethel (Lambka) Garwood.
Surviving are his beloved children, Wendy (Scott) Armstrong of Martinsville, IN; grandson, Alex Armstrong; sister, Lo Ann (Robert) Post of La Porte; niece, Jodie Chapman of La Porte; and nephews, Robert (Jacqueline) Post of Key West, FL,and L. James Post of La Porte
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Laura Prescott.
Doug was an avid Chicago Blackhawks and Cubs fan. He enjoyed casinos, Disney, and the beach. He served honorably in the US Army.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
