Biography

Dr. Glenn William Simerlein, 75, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

Glenn was born in Davenport, IA, on September 10, 1942 to Dr. William A. and Dorothy Anna Marie (Oest) Simerlein.

On September 1, 1968 at First United Methodist Church in La Porte, he married Mary Lu Brady who survives in La Porte. Also surviving are his beloved children, Dr. Scott L. Simerlein of La Porte and Dr. Mitzi M. Simerlein of La Porte; and brother, Dr. Wayne A. Simerlein of Chesterton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dianne Simerlein; and brother, John Simerlein.

Glenn was a member of the Palmer College of Chiropractic Alumni Association, First United Methodist Church, Incurable Collectors Association, and Jaycees. He was also a Girl Scout Troop Sponsor and a PTA Officer. Glenn served honorably in the US Army Reserves for 8 years.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM (CST) on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Evan Lash officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:30 PM (CST) until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be directed to First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, IN 46350.
