Dr. Paul P. Harris, age 94, of La Porte, passed away on August 28, 2013 at Golden Living Center Fountainview.
He was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 11, 1918 to Frank M. and Amanda (Cole) Harris.
On June 14, 1941 he married Maxine (McKee) Harris who preceded him in death. Surviving are his beloved children; son, Rev. David (Kay) Harris; daughter, Paula Jean Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dr. Carl Harris; sisters, Cleo Kramer, and Ruth Simiandl.
Paul attended Indiana University and was a graduate from Indiana School of Dentistry in 1943. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from 1943-1946. He had a Dental Practice in La Porte from November of 1946 until his retirement on April 1, 1985. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Church, former member of Kiwanis Club, La Porte Elks, life member of Indiana State Dental Association, and the Northwest Indiana Dental Association.
A time of gathering with friends and family will be held from 10:00 -11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private family graveside service will take place following the time of visitation at Door Village Cemetery.
