Dylan Eldon Cory, 21, of Union Mills, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Hobart, IN.
Dylan was born in Michigan City, IN, on September 12, 1994 to Wayne and Nicole (Anderson) Cory, Jr.
Dylan is survived by his father, Wayne Cory, Jr.; special family friends, Rachel Clowers-Gaze and Ron Gaze; girlfriend, Emma Unger of Union Mills; brothers, Aaron Cory of La Porte, Derek Sawyer of La Porte, Blayne Ludwig of La Porte; grandparents, Wayne and Donna Cory, Sr. of La Porte, Gerald and Dorothy Anderson of Michigan City, and Luevetta Gust; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Knox, La Porte and Michigan City area. Also surviving are his best friends, Brandon Clemons, Chris Schackart, Andrew Dean, and many other friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nicole (Anderson) Cory who passed away in 2005; uncle, Marvin Rudd; great-grandmother, Violet Rudd; great-grandparents, Robert and Nola Cory, and Rev. Ralph and Mabel Anderson.
Dylan was a 2013 graduate of New Prairie High School where he played on the Basketball team and Golf team. He loved participating in golf tournaments and basketball leagues. He enjoyed remodeling his home. Dylan was owner operator of D.E.C. Distributions, where he worked very hard. He was proud of his bread route. Dylan was a believer in Christ with an enormous heart and gentle soul. His drive in life was providing for his family and making sure that everyone felt cared for. He wanted everyone to strive to be their best selves. With a contagious smile and quick wit, he will be missed by all who knew him. His gentle smile, warm love and compassion will never be forgotten. He left an imprint on our hearts. Fly high, our guardian angel. We love you.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM (CST) on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Rev. Don Bayne, Jr. officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 PM (CST) on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 and from 9 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery following the service.
