Earl L. Hoops

April 12, 1942 — January 17, 2005

Earl LeRoy Hoops, 62, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana, died at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Earl was born April 12, 1942, in Linton, Indiana to Willis L. & Nona E. (Carpenter) Hoops. On December 15, 1959, he married Patricia Rose Rozinski, who survives.

Also surviving are daughters Darlene Vance of LaPorte, Lola (Edward) Willoughby of Fish Lake, IN and Earlene Reeves of LaPorte; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters Lola (Todd) Lombardo of Clearfield, PA and Christina McPherson of Union Mills, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Fay Hoops.

Earl had retired after 17 years as a correctional officer at the Westville Correctional Center. He also had a drafting degree and had been a truck driver.

He had attended Countryside Christian Church and Pinhook Methodist Church. He belonged to the Teamster Union and was an active blood donor for the American Red Cross.
