Eddie Lee Hawk age 56, of LaPorte, IN passed away following a brief and courageous battle with Cancer on July 27, 2012. He was born on January 2, 1956 to Carl L. Hubner and Edna Kotwa in South Bend, IN. On October 12, 2002 he married Lori Alexander in LaPorte, IN.
He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1976 and then earned a business degree from PNC. He retired as a sergeant from the La Porte County Sheriff's Department in 2011 following a 35 year career in Law Enforcement. He was very active in the community over the years. He was a charter member of the La Porte County Police Cadets, member of the Sherriff's department SCUBA dive team, and attended the LaPorte Assembly of God. Following retirement he worked for Walgreens as an Organized Crime Retail Theft Investigator.
A funeral Service celebrating Eddie's Life will be held at 11AM on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 31, 2012 from 3-8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at Kingsbury Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Lori Hawk of LaPorte, IN; five children, Lindsey Hawk of LaPorte & Megan Hawk of Chesterton , Amanda (Johnny) Lemon of LaPorte, IN and Angie Wingett and Dan Kebacinski both of Michigan City; 3 grandchildren, Olivia Lemon, Kylee Hawk, and Brielle Lemon; his parents, Carl (Lois) Hubner of Tavares, Fl and Edna Kotwa of LaPorte; one brother, Bill Hubner of Elkhart, IN; and a grandmother, Catherine Hubner of LaPorte, IN. He also leaves behind a very special dog, Pixie Jean Hawk.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family of Eddie Lee Hawk in c/o Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Contributions will be used to purchase Bibles for the members of the Military, and underprivileged children.
