Edith H. Hoeppner, 81 years old of La Porte, IN, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 in La Porte Hospital.
She was born October 10, 1927 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, daughter of the late Albert L. Downing and the late Inez (Houseknecht) Downing.
She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Braille Society with Trinity Lutheran Church of La Porte. She stuffed papers for St. Johns Lutheran Church for many years..
She retired as a Clerk for S.&W. Electric of La Porte
She married Kenneth Fritz in 1947 who preceded her in death Feb. 1985, then married Sept. 24, 1988 in La Porte to Anton H. Hoeppner who preceded her in death April 23,1999.
Surviving are Son, Ronald A. Fritz of La Porte, IN, Step Daughters; Karen (Ralph) Howes of La Porte, & Kathleen (William) Burtch-Manassas, VA., 2 Step Sons; David (Beth) Hoeppner, LaPorte, & Thomas (Barbara) Hoeppner, Colorado Springs, CO., 8 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; Sister, Doris Blaze of La Porte, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Albert Downing
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Brauer officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home and 10-11 A.M. on Thursday. Interment will follow in the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery.
