Edith G. Kaley, 91, LaPorte, died of natural causes at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday (March 24, 2004) at her home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Springville Free Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Hill officiating. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, and from 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the church.
Mrs. Kaley was born March 8, 1913, in Michigan City, to Charles N. and Bertha B. (Williams) Bull. In December of 1931, she married Buel M. Doane, who died in October of 1978. In May of 1980, in Springville, she married Kenneth W. Kaley, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Charles M. (Mary) Doane, Porter, and Darrell (Susan) Doane, Ladson, S.C.; three daughters, Marilyn E. (John) Antisdel, LaPorte, Lois C. (Harold) Hocutt and Joyce E. (Robert) Beckner, both of Michigan City; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey and Gregory Doane, Carolyn Tibbs, Roger and Ronald Price, Randal and Michael Hocutt, Rodney and Kevin Beckner; two step-daughters, Naomi Aimsley and Lucille Tyskie; seven step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding Mrs. Kaley in death were two brothers, Clarence N. and Frank W. Bull; and one step-daughter, Alberta Engle.
Mrs. Kaley was the office manager for Delaney's Furniture in LaPorte. She was a member of Springville Free Methodist Church and of the Springville Women's Ministries International. She was a graduate of Spring Arbor Seminary and attended Spring Arbor Junior College in Spring Arbor, Mich. Mrs. Kaley was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Century Club.
