Edna Jones, 93 years old of La Porte, IN, and formerly of Norton, VA died Friday, September 10, 2010 in Golden Living Center-Fountainview.
She was born April 17, 1917 in Rock House, Kentucky, daughter of the late Floyd & Samatha(Mullins) Smith.
She was a member of Hopkins Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Norton, VA and attended the New Hope Baptist Church in La Porte
She was a Homemaker and full time loving mother and a servant of the Lord.
Surviving are 2 Dtrs; Phyllis Humes of Orleans, MI. Shirley (John) Okrzesik, of La Porte & a son; Monroe(Charlotte) Jones of La Porte 12 Grandchildren, 25 Gt. Grandchildren, 8 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren many loving Nieces and Nephews, and countles beloved friends
She married August 8, 1936 in Wise, VA. to Sidney Monroe Jones who preceded her in death Sept. 5, 1953
He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Russell and Billy Ray Jones, 7 brothers & 4 sisters
Friends will be received at the Cutler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 PM., Tues. Sept. 14, 2010.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday. Sept. 17, 2010 at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton, VA with Rev. Mike Hunsucker and Pastor Monroe Jones, Jr. officiating. There will also be a time of visitation from 4-8:00 PM Thurs at the funeral home in VA.
Interment will follow in the Hill Cemetery in Norton, VA.
