Edward O. Galloway,Sr., 86 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Millers Merry Manor, New Carlisle, IN.
He was born February 17, 1925 in LaPorte County, IN; Son of the late Jesse and Ada (Stanage) Galloway.
He was married on July 5, 1947 in LaPorte to Shirley (Schweder) Galloway who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law: Linda & Ernie Livinghouse; granddaughter: Julie and her husband Mike Kirkham; grandson: Randy Livinghouse; great grandchildren: Morgan, Madeline, Brittney, Nick & Jordyn; brothers: Claude, Richard, Jack & Gene Galloway; sisters: Mary Ingole, Nancy Bush and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Eddie Galloway; brothers: Marion, Jesse, Joseph, Carl and Charles Galloway.
Ed owned 3 gas stations over the years. Two were in LaPorte and one is Westville. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the Stillwell Lions Club. He was a 4 year, WWII Navy Veteran. He enjoyed Phesant hunting trips to Nebraska with his son-in-law and grandson. He had many good memories of all the vacations over the years. He was a great family man.
Friends will be received from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Ron Brauer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Heckman Cemetery with full Military Rites.
