Ed Lindsey, 85, of Stillwell, Indiana, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Beverly Living Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, at Cutler Funeral Home with Pastor Monroe Jones and Pastor Paul Coldiron officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Salem Chapel Cemetery.
Ed was born October 15, 1921, in Lawrence Co., Alabama to the late Carlie and Bessie (Moats) Lindsey. On August 12, 1943, in Athens, Alabama, he married Lillie Colston, who preceded him in death May 24, 2004.
Surviving are daughters Dessie (Robert William) Bealor and Peggy Majors, both of LaPorte; sons Delmon (Patricia) Lindsey of Hamlet, IN and James & Gary Lindsey, both of LaPorte; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Bama Hill of Lawrence Co., AL, Coralee McNeal of Kentucky and Helen Glenn of Moulton, AL; and brother Sam C. Lindsey of Jasper, IN.
A son, Cullen W. Lindsey, sisters Tranlee Pugh & Peggy Jo Lindsey and brothers Jack & Billy Jo Lindsey preceded him in death.
Ed had worked for 43 years at Teledyne Casting, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, to which memorial contributions may be made.
