Edward "Eddie" Eugene Modjeska, 73, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Northwest Health - La Porte.
Edward was born on May 10, 1948 in La Porte, IN, to Frank F. and Regina (Wozniak) Modjeska.
On November 28, 1987 in La Porte, IN, he married Lola Jean Moss, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Shelly (Chris) Clarke of Michigan City and Brandy (Jack) Wallis of New Carlisle; daughter-in-law, Donna Heath of La Porte; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Frank (Diana Lynn) Modjeska of New Carlisle, Dorothy Loree of New Carlisle, Mary Andrews of Chicago, IL, Josephine Carroll of New Carlisle, and Carol Weber of Jackson, MI; sisters-in-law, Donna Moss, Tina Moss, and Dawn Walker; brothers-in-law, Larry Moss and Robert Moss; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; sisters, Betty Miller and Frances Modjeska; infant brother, Thomas Modjeska; and stepson, David Heath.
Edward proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea.
Edward was a set-up man at Dwyer Instruments. He enjoyed completing puzzles, steam engines, and Superman. Edward loved going to Disney World. He had a deep love for his dogs. Edward was a member of the American Legion #297 and the VFW Post #9423 Rolling Prairie.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Zigler officiating. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 West State Road 2, La Porte, IN 46350.
