Edward Whittaker

November 11, 1922 — July 18, 2008

"Ed" was born in Bolton England. He served in the defense of his country in WWII as a tool and die maker and aircraft mechanic for De Havilland Aircraft Corporation in the Royal Air Force. He and his fiance, Jessica Allen, immigrated to the United States in 1951 They were married in La Porte at St. Paul's Episcopal Chruch in 1951. He worked for Allis Chalmers and Modine Manufacturing until his retirement . He was one of the longest serving ushers at St. Paul's. All who knew him will remember him fondly for his gentle strength, his wry sense of humor, his skill as a toolmaker, and as a man of great peace and calm.
