Edwin Alan Eskridge

Edwin "Edd" Alan Eskridge, 69, of La Porte, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

Edd was born in La Porte, IN, on October 17, 1951 to Edwin J. and Imogene N. (McKeehan) Eskridge.

On August 9, 1997, he married Tammy Wagoner who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Jaime Eskridge of Lafayette, Kelli (Brandon) Davie of La Porte, Mary (David) Mendoza of La Porte, and Tim Werner of La Porte; 4 grandchildren, Hadley and Ellison Davie and Jaydah and Junior Mendoza ; brother, Lonny (Laura) Eskridge of La Porte; sister-in-law, Kathleen Eskridge of La Porte; and 6 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruce Eskridge

Edd was a driver and mechanic for many years at Thompson Trucking, Westville.  He loved his lifetime work of repairing and working on trucks, motorcycles. tractors, and heavy excavating equipment.  It wasn't uncommon for Edd to receive a call from a friend with a broken piece of equipment.  He'd promptly make plans to visit and repair that need.  Edd was a member of the La Porte Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Edd enjoyed serving others through his faithful blood and plasma donations with the American Red Cross.  He was a dog lover.  Most importantly, Edd enjoyed the quality time that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the La Porte Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1480 Boyd Blvd., La Porte, with Pastor Dwight Kruger officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the church.
