Edwin Hamilton Woodson, 77, of La Porte, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Fountainview Terrace.
Edwin was born in Frankfort, KY, on July 15, 1940 to John David and Grace (Abbott) Woodson.
In 1962 he married Eva Pauline Oaks. The couple had two sons, Dean Woodson of La Porte, and David (Mary) Woodson of Chesterton, IN; 3 grandchildren, Ashley (Carey) Jones of Carmel, IN, AJ Woodson of La Porte, and Abby Woodson of Chesterton, IN; sisters, Carol Lawall of Pond Hill. PA, Hila Williams of Scanton, PA; brothers, Ron (Mary Ann) Woodson of Sumerset, KY, Creston (Pat) Woodson of Cypress, TX; sister-in-law, Della Woodson and brother-in-law, Kenneth Broughton. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings.
Eva Pauline Woodson, 74, of La Porte, joined Edwin 10 days later on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Settlers House. The couple were married for 55 years and spent little time apart from one another. They loved spending quality time with the children, grandchildren and friends. They also enjoyed collecting antiques and going to garage sales. They were lifetime members following the Lord at Calvary Baptist Church.
Eva was born in Crab Orchard, KY, on August 3, 1943 to Milton and Rosa (Simpson) Oaks.
She was survived by her children and grandchildren as well as 2 sisters-in-law, Lula and Judy Oaks.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for both Edwin and Eva will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church. A time of visitation will be held from 3 PM on Saturday until the time of the service at the church.
