Elfrieda Hibner, 83 years old of La Porte, IN, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009 in The Arbors at Michigan City from complications due to heart surgery.
She was born July 23, 1925 to Walter and Frienda Schoenfeld in Trebsen (Saxony) Germany. In 1927 she and her parents immigrated to Chicago. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1943. In 1946 she married Charles W. Danielson (deceased) and moved to Michigan City, IN., where she was employed by Jaymar-Ruby and Weil McLain. In 1974 she married Walter R. Hibner (deceased) and moved to LaPorte.
She enjoyed gardening, entertaining and cooking. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Michigan City, IN.
Surviving are son; C. Robert (LaDonna) Danielson of Niles, MI., granddaughter; Carmen (Matthew) Dobbertien of Homewood, IL., stepdaughter; Georgia (Jack) Garwick of LaPorte, IN., step-granddaughter; Michelle (Bob) Pajor of LaPorte, IN., three step-grandsons; Michael Pdzinski of LaPorte, Jack F. (Noel) Garwick, Jr. of LaPorte, Donald Garwick of Michigan City, stepson; Craig W. (Annie) Hibner of Los Lunas, New Mexico, step-granddaughter; Natalie (Aaron) Tims of Dallas, TX and many great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation but a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Michigan City, IN. Cutler Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
