Elizabeth "Betty" A. Stroh, 89 years old of Union Mills, IN, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012 in IU Health LaPorte Hospital .
She was born on January 6, 1923 in Bremen, IN, daughter of A.O. "Orville" & Lillian (Brechtel) Bowser.
She was married on May 21, 1942 to Don H. Stroh who preceded her in death on March 3, 1994.
Surviving are her daughter, Sue Ann (Elliott) Werner of Union Mills, IN; son, Richard (Bernadette) Stroh of Union Mills, IN; four grandchildren, Duane (Rachel) Werner, Deanna (Rick) Budka, Lori (Craig) Sullivan, Julie (James) Ahern; eight great grandchildren, Derek Budka, Kayla Budka, Kyleigh Werner, Blake Werner, Mallory Moench, Emily Ahern, Ashley Ahern and Katherine Ahern.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Jensen and two brothers, Wilbur "Bud" Bowser and David Bowser.
Betty was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, former member of Noble Twp Home Economic Club, Presbyterian Women and a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a huge loving heart for all children she was in contact with.
She and Don enjoyed camping and spending their winter months in Florida with their friends.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 4-7 P.M. at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, LaPorte, IN.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Union Mills. There will also be a time of visitation from 10 AM until the time of service at the church.
Interment will follow in the Union Mills Cemetery.
