Marie Surowiec, 92, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at her daughter's home.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, at the LaPorte Missionary Church with Rev. Carl Galloway officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery at a later date.
Marie was born February 24, 1914, in Warren, Indiana to Harvey & Effie Fern Aikman. On October 22, 1930, in LaPorte, she married Stanley P. Suroweic, who preceded her in death July 2, 1995.
Survivors include daughters Sue Grice and Sandra (Jake) Robinson, both of LaPorte; son Robert (Phyllis) Surowiec of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren Rodney Surowiec, Debbie Pratt, Kathy Hoover, Michaelanne Otwinowski, Kelly Ingram, and Jamie & Mandy Robinson; 10 great-grand-children; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Mike Surowiec, 2 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Marie was a homemaker and she attended LaPorte Missionary Church where she loved her church activities. She also so enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
