Elsa Rebecca Johnson Bland, age 41, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on October 22, 1974 the daughter of Jeffrey L. and Theresa D. Johnson Sr.and graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 1993. She had a very outgoing personality and will always be remembered as a loving grandmother with a big heart.
She is survived by four children, Brett Dollins of Edwardsburg, MI, Kayla Freel, Justice Freel, and Candi Freel all of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Kari-Anna Freel, Keiondre Freel, and Semya Freel all of South Bend, IN; father, Jeffrey Johnson Sr. of South Bend, IN; brother, Jeffrey L. (Rhonda) Johnson Jr. of Edwardsburg, MI; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
A memorial service in Elsa’s honor will be held at 7pm on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Granger Missionary Church, 50841 Birch Road, Granger, IN 46530. Rev. Lee Fowler will officiate. A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Edwardsburg Cemetery.
