Erla Bernice Peterson, age 72, of Rolling Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
Erla was born in Peoria, IL on December 26, 1942 to Sturgis and Mary Erla (Cranmer) Johnston.
Surviving are her beloved sons, Shawn D. Peterson and Scot Peterson, both of Rolling Prairie, IN; grandsons, Tristan and Troy; brother, Albert Johnston of TX; and sister, Helen Block of FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Erla enjoyed reading, classic films, television, classical music, flowers, collecting stuffed animals, and Star Trek. She enjoyed learning something new about people, places, and all kinds of other things.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 2 PM until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center following the service.
