Ernest O. Schwenk, 84 years old of La Porte, IN, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 in St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City
He was born Nov. 5, 1925 in La Porte, Son of the late John & Eliza (Carter) Schwenk
He married Margarete Friedrich July 25, 1953 at Galena Baptist Church in La Porte who preceded him in death Dec. 5, 2002
Surviving are 2 Daughters; Lynn(Kelvin)Zaffke of Backus, MN., Debbie(Dennis)Ross of Missoula, MT., 2 Sons; Timothy(Kathy)Schwenk of Victorville, CA., Philip(Cheri)Schwenk of La Porte, 9 Grandchildren; Timmy Schwenk, Kari(John)Baker, Heidi(Ron)Barhelme, Rebecca(Gavin)Peterson, Garrett Zaffke, Ryan Schwenk, Michelle Schwenk, Mandy Ross, & Travis Ross, 7 Gt. Grandchildren, Sisters; Thelma, Velma, & Marian, Brother; Glenn
He was preceded in death by 5 Brothers
He graduated from Rolling Prairie High School and from Bryan College in Dayton, TN. in 1952, worked for Kills Office Machines and retired from Chapman Office Machines in Michigan City as a repair technician, served in US Army from 1945-1946 and attended Galena Baptist Church
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday Dec. 9, 2009 at Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. Dennis Pycraft officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the Service.
A Private Family Interment will follow in Heckman Cemetery in Galena Township.
