Evelyn LaVonne Felton, 77, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her home.
Evelyn was born in Rivervale, AK, on July 27, 1938 to Leslie "Ray" Husky and VernieMae (Austin) Brooks.
On December 23, 1961 in Westville, IN, she married Norman P. Felton who preceded her in death on May 19, 1981. Surviving are her beloved children,Terry R. McKeehan, Larry M. McKeehan, and Johnny Wilson Scott; daughters, Pamela M. (Mark) Guzek and LaVonne K. (Mike) Day; brothers, Gary and Dennis Brooks; extended family, Teena McKeehan, Amy Stanish, and Shawnn MoField, Kelly Ulerick, Buck and Oleana Hudson, Ruthy Pryor; 26 grandchildren, and 67 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Felton; son, Argyll McKeehan; three grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Ella; and two sisters, Patsy and Dorthy.
Evelyn was a member of the Polish Falcons. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, collecting glass, and knickknacks.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, April 1, 2016 and from 9 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
