Evelyn W. Heise, of La Porte, In, age 77, died at 9:33 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at Hospice House in South Bend, In after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by her husband, best friend and soul-mate, Robert, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage next month.
She was the loving mother of Carol (Charles) Wright of Michigan City and Brian (Patricia) Heise of Palatine, Il; proud grandmother of Adam Bluhm, Courtney and Christopher Wright and Amanda and Alison Heise; great-grandmother of five; in-laws, Richard and Dorothy Heise of New Smyrna Beach, Fl, and also survived by six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, Matthew Bluhm and parents Nedra (nee Barnes) and Harold Wolford.
Evelyn had worked at T-P Labs in Michigan City for 14 years until her retirement in 1984. She was also a former member of the Beta Epsilon Phi Social Sorority of La Porte.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 20, 2003 at the Cutler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Joseph County Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, In 46637
