Evelyn M. Taylor, 85, LaPorte, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday (May 4, 2003) at her home.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Darryl Baker officiating. Burial is in Patton Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born April 7, 1918, in Hollidaysburg, Pa., to William and Rebecca (Woomer) Lytle. On Sept. 30, 1950, in LaPorte, she married James W. Taylor, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Judy Ward, Niles, Mich., and Judy Lowe, Plainfield, Ill.; one sister, Eleanor McBurney, Altoona, Pa.; one daughter-in-law, Gabriele Taylor; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dale Taylor; two brothers, Fred and Carl Lytle; two sisters, Ruth Nicodemus and Iva Simmons; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of LaPorte First Baptist Church and a life member of the Swanson Center for Older Adults.
