Ezra Douglas Holbrook, 77, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at La Porte Hospital and Health Services.
Ezra was born in Prestonsburg, KY, on March 24, 1942 to Sollie and Zella Mae (Prater) Holbrook.
January 1963 in Norton, VA, he married his beloved Stella (Owsley), who preceded him in death on August 12, 2005. Surviving are his beloved daughters, Pamela Noel of La Porte, Elizabeth Blankenship of Rolling Prairie, and Melissa (fiance', Joseph Varga) Scott of South Bend; 10 grandchildren, Mathen, Marcus, and Mitchell Noel, Casey, Craig (Rachel) and Zach Miller, Nathan (Tricia) and Tyler (Selena) Metts, Angie Holbrook and Kayla Arnett; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Holbrook; brother, Sam Holbrook; and sister, Ruth Fegley.
Ezra was a coal miner and also worked at Allis-Chalmers and Teledyne. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing pool. Ezra loved dancing and cooking out with friends and family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 pm until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date.
