Fay William Parker , 100 year old of La Porte, and formerly of Sarasota, FL., passed away Tuesday Sept. 1, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Fountainview in La Porte.
He was born September 28, 1908 in LaPorte, Indiana , Son of the late Ben B. Parker and Daisy E. Zach .
He was a graduate of Central Michigan University receiving a B.S. Degree in 1932 also received a MA Degree from Ball State University in 1961. Fay was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church, former member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Sarasota, FL., First United Methodist Church of La Porte, and a member of NSTA.
He taught school at Kingsbury and Union Township Schools and taught science at both Kesling and Boston Middle Schools until his retirement.
He Married Dec. 28, 1933 in La Porte to Sabra Maxine Beck who preceded him in death Oct. 11, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters; Sheila Pressel of Union Mills and Karen Scott of Highland, IN., Six grandchildren; Eric Pressel of Union Mills, Andrea(John)Wiley of Fayetteville, NC, , Tracy Hayter of La Porte, Gerald Scott of Joliet, IL., Cheryl(Rick)Meisenheimer of Kent, WA., and Michelle Eggleston of Salem, OR., 7 Gt. Grandchildren, 3 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son; Ben Alan Parker, 3 Sisters and 1 brother.
Friends will be received at Cutler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 PM, Friday September 4, 2009.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at Cutler Funeral Home with Revs. Dorothy Jones & Bob Coolman officiating. A luncheon to follow at Tracy United Methodist Church with burial at Pine Lake Cemetery.
