Freda M. Jackson, 97, of Crown Point, Indiana, died at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Crown Point.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, at the Cutler Funeral Home in LaPorte, Indiana with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the Concordia Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana.
Freda was born on September 7, 1907, in Hammond, IN to Herman & Kathrine (Ulrich) Haehnel. On April 5, 1931, in Hammond, she married Maurice D. Jackson, who preceded her in death in 1971.
Survivors include daughter Melva "GiGi" Jackson-Krause of Lowell, IN; son Ronald (Betty) Jackson of LaPorte; grandchildren Richard S., Jerry P., Daniel J. and Sherry J. Jackson, Heather M. and Albert H. Krause III; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Freda had worked for Inlander-Stindler Paper Company in Hammond. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hammond, where she had belonged to the Ladies Aid. She also belonged to Bethany Lutheran Church of LaPorte. She was a graduate of Hammond High School. She also enjoyed all Chicago sports, playing cards and reading.
