Frederick "Lynn" Goldenstern, 78, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Lynn was born in Chicago, IL, on July 28, 1942 to Fred Joseph and Marjorie Blanch (Muschenheim) Goldenstern.
On January 12, 1963 in La Porte, IN, he married Mary Beth Burden who survives. Also surviving are his children, Julia L. Walker of Noblesville, IN, Jill M. Conkey of Chicago, IL, Carey J. Johnson of La Porte, and Michael P. Goldenstern of New Carlisle; 9 grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jennifer E.Wells.
Lynn worked as a bus driver for the La Porte Community Schools for about 15 years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where he worked as a custodian for 30 years. Lynn was also a member of the Maple City Lions Club. He volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader when his son was involved and later as a Boy Scout leader. Lynn enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and especially being with his family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
Due to the recent La Porte County Order, anyone attending the visitation and/or service is required to wear a mask.
