Frederick Stigler, 75, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 9:55 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Cutler Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m on Sunday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Frederick was born February 22, 1930, in New Berlin, Wisconsin to Anthony & Marie (Kau) Stigler. On March 12, 1955, in New Berlin, he married Dolores J. Struck who survives.
Also surviving are daughters Denise (Gary L.) Bunch and Terese C. (Chris) Stigler both of LaPorte; sons Bradley P. (Virginia) Stigler of Michigan City, IN, Frederick A. Stigler of LaPorte and Vincent J. Stigler of Carpentersville, IL; 13 grandchildren; sister Dorothy Casper of Brookfield, WI; brothers Harold of Milwaukee, WI, Lawrence "Bud" of Big Bend, WI, Tom of Waukesha, WI and Donald of California; and best friend SAM IAM.
Sisters Beatrice Stigler, Mildred Leair, Isabel & Regina Honeyager and brothers Andrew, Tony & James Stigler preceded him in death.
Frederick retired from Allis Chalmers in 1991 as a supervisor. He had owned a Subway store in Michigan City and was semi retired, working at the Waste Water Treatment Plant in LaPorte.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaPorte. He was a Life Member of VFW Post #1130, and belonged to the Mall Walkers Club of Marquette Mall. He was a graduate of the University of Marquette in Milwaukee and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.
