Gary Soyland, 55, of Union Mills, IN died November 16, 2008 at Porter Memorial Hospital. He was born August 27, 1953 in Santa Ana, CA to Theodore Soyland and Betty (Williams) Bender. He was married on March 4, 1972 in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Pamela Glatt who survives.
Other survivors include: Father: Theodore Soyland of Hot Springs, S.D; 1 Son: David (Sandy) Soyland of Hanna, IN; 1 Daughter: Sherry Myers of LaPorte; 2 Grandchildren: David Myers of Chillicothe, OH., Isabella Soyland of Hanna, IN; 2 Brothers: Ricky Soyland of Faulkton, S. D. and Kreg Warrick of Box Elder, S. D.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother: Betty (Williams) Bender and 1 Brother: David Soyland.
Gary was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran. After his retirement he went into manufacturing. He enjoyed antique cars and golf. He was the family mechanic.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the American Legion Post #295 in Union Mills, IN. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 11-12 P.M. on Saturday. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery, South Dakota.
