Genevieve L. Jozwiak, 90, Rolling Prairie, died at 1:00 a.m. Monday (March 1, 2004) at LaPorte Hospital
The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie, with the Rev. Michael Heimer officiating. Burial is in St. John Kanty Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. tonight.
Mrs. Jozwiak was born Jan. 3, 1914, in New Carlisle to John A. and Helen (Pekofske) Miller. On Nov. 24, 1934, in Rolling Prairie, IN, she married Clemens Clem Jozwiak, who died Nov. 21, 1981.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Olson, Mill Creek, and Rose Marie Timm, Michigan City; one son, Jerome G. (Rose) Jozwiak, Rolling Prairie; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand-daughter; three sisters, Pat Kopchinski, Michigan City, Augustine Zgoda, Arlington Heights, Ill., and Margaret Andrysiak, Hudson Lake; one brother, Frank Miller, New Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Dorothy Noverske and Betty Baron; two brothers, Floyd and Andrew Miller; two sons-in-law, Melvin Olson and Kenneth Timm; one grandson, Robert Olson; two great-granddaughters, Danielle and Emily Timm; and one great-great-grandson, Brian Stephens.
Mrs. Jozwiak graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1932 and attended St. John Kanty Catholic Church. She was a member of the Golden Ages, the Rosary Society and Galena Homemakers and Extension. She was a homemaker who made quilts for everyone, loving to crochet and knit.
