Mr. George W. Hope, 91, of 106 Whitehead, LaPorte, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at 8:15 a.m. at Countryside Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Rumley officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
He was born September 21, 1911 in Miami, Florida to Hubert and Matilda (Fleming) Hope. On November 14, 1936, he married Margaret M. Kermin who preceded him in death on January 20, 1980.
He is survived by a son, Bill Hope of LaPorte, a daugter, Kay Zollman of LaPorte, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mr. Hope was a retired contractor and had owned and operated Hope Consturction Company. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. He loved bowling, and had belonged to several different bowling leagues during his lifetime, most of them at Thunderbird Lanes.
